So i decided i'm gonna do something dumb and log everything i do to this new camaro of mine. if you (doubtful) found my site randomly, there are pictures here.
1978 Z28 Camaro. i'm the 4th owner, and i bought it on June 21, 2004.
it's been only two days :) but so far i got a steering wheel cover 'cause the old one was...slimy? i think it's synthetic leather and it's deteriorating so there's some kind of oil comin' out of it...not a lot, but enough to make my hands really tacky. new cover: $8
ordered a Chilton's manual for her.
and spent 1.5 hrs. scraping/peeling the old tint off the back window. it's a partial fastback so that thing goes down into a little crevice...very hard to get your hand back there to peel the shit off. then of course there's all this glue leftover on the windshield so i used most of a bottle of acetone getting that shit off, then window cleaner to finish the job...nearly passing out from all the fumes. finally, cleaned the outside of the window with this pumice stuff that's a mild abrasive so it gets water spots off. now my back window's all nice and shiny :) much safer...since the old tint had gotten all hazy and i couldn't see more than a pair of headlights out my rearview window...this'll be much more comfortable..now i can see cops!
